Which hosting do I need?
Choosing hosting comes down to one question: what is your website built with? That decides whether it needs our Windows servers or our Linux servers. It has nothing to do with the computer you use - Mac, PC, tablet or phone, everything is managed in your web browser.
WordPress
A WordPress site or blog, or you're starting from scratch. Linux plans with WordPress pre-installed, tuned for the job.
WordPress hosting
An online shop (WooCommerce)
Selling products with WooCommerce, which runs on WordPress. Plans sized for a shop rather than a brochure site.
WooCommerce hosting
PHP (not WordPress)
A PHP site or app - Laravel, a custom build, Joomla, Drupal and friends. Linux plans with PHP 5 to 8 and MySQL.
Linux hosting
.NET, ASP.NET or MS SQL
A site built on the Microsoft stack - .NET Core or Framework, ASP.NET MVC or Web Forms, MS SQL Server. Our speciality.
Windows hosting
Umbraco or DNN
A site on a .NET CMS. We host and support both as specialists, on the same Windows platform.
Just email, no website
Professional email on your own domain, without buying web hosting at all. Mailboxes work with Apple Mail, Outlook and webmail.
Email hosting
Hosting websites for lots of different clients? Look at agency hosting, which pools resources across all of them. And whichever plan you pick, moving an existing site is free within your first 14 days - we do the work.
Choosing hosting FAQs
Does it matter whether I use a Mac or a PC?
Not at all. "Windows hosting" and "Linux hosting" describe the servers your website runs on in our datacentre, not the computer you use. Everything is managed through your web browser, so a Mac, PC, Chromebook, tablet or phone all work just the same.
I don't know what my website is built with - what now?
No problem. Send us your website address and we'll work it out for you, then point you at the right plan. If you don't have a website yet, WordPress is the best starting point for most people - our WordPress plans come with it pre-installed.
What if I pick the wrong one?
We'll sort it out. Tell us and we'll move your site onto the right platform - and within your first 14 days there's free migration and a 30 day money back guarantee anyway, so nothing is locked in.
