Is migration really free?
Yes. If you're within the first 14 days of a new hosting plan with us, our team moves your website across for free, up to your plan's limits. There's no separate migration charge and no catch.
Moving mailboxes is included too, though very large or numerous mailboxes can take extra work. If that applies to you we'll tell you the cost up front, before we start, so there are never any surprises.
Will my site go down?
No. We copy your site onto our servers and get it working there first, while your live site keeps running exactly where it is. Only once you've checked the preview and you're happy do we switch your DNS across.
Because the new copy is already live and tested before the switch, visitors keep reaching your site throughout. The DNS change itself can take a few hours to spread worldwide, but both old and new sites answer during that window, so no one sees an outage.
Can you move my emails too?
Yes. We move your existing mailboxes and their messages onto our UK mail servers and switch your MX records over, so nothing is lost and email keeps flowing.
Standard mailboxes are part of a free move. Very large mailboxes, or a lot of them, occasionally need extra time and may carry a small fee, which we'll always agree with you beforehand.
What if I'm mid-contract elsewhere?
That's fine, you can still move now. We don't need you to cancel with your old host first. We set everything up alongside your existing service and only switch DNS when you say so, so there's no gap.
You settle whatever's left of your current contract with them directly. Plenty of customers move to us early and simply let the old plan lapse at renewal.

Most small business sites are copied over and ready to preview the same or next working day. Larger sites with big databases or many mailboxes take a little longer, and we'll give you a realistic estimate once we've looked.
The final DNS switch happens whenever suits you, and can take up to 24 to 48 hours to fully spread across the internet.
