How to add a Domain Name

This article shows you how to set up your domain names in our hosting control panel. If you are setting up your hosting account this is the first thing you should do.

Hosting Spaces. Click on the 'Domains' button in your hosting spaces home page.

Domains page. Click on the 'Add Domain' button. This is also where you can edit domains after you have added them

Add New Domain page. Select whether you want to add a domain or a sub-domain. nuttyabouthosting.co.uk would be a domain and shopping.nuttyabouthosting.co.uk would be a sub-domain

Enter the domain name without the www. Then select the following options
'Create a website' - select this if this is the main domain you are using for your website
'Assign to existing Web site' - select this if you are adding a domain to your current website i.e. adding a .com to a .co.uk website so both domain go to the same website
'Assign to existing Mail Domain' - select this if you are adding a domain to your current website i.e. adding a .com to a .co.uk website and you want .com email addresses going to .co.uk email addresses
'Enable DNS' - select this if you are moving you domain to Nutty About Hosting or are going to use our nameservers
Now click 'Add Domain'

You will go back to the Domains page. You can now click on the domain name you have just added. You will now see the details and are able to view or edit the DNS settings if you selected to create these.

We create the common DNS Zone entries for you. You can add further ones if you require.
