How to Use a Scheduled Task to Execute a URL or Script

A scheduled task is the Windows version of the 'cron job' and can be used to perform tasks at certain times and/or intervals.

This article provides instructions on how to create a scheduled task to run a URL or script at a specific time.

1. In your hosting control panel click on 'Scheduled Tasks' under the 'System' section.

2. Click the 'Add Scheduled Task' button.

3. Add the name of your scheduled task and select 'Check Web Site Availability' from the 'Task Type' dropdown. The 'Task Parameters' area will populate. You need to complete the 'URL' textbox with the full url path of your script. Then select how often you want to run it from the 'Schedule' dropdown. Click 'Save'.
