How to Turn On 2FA Security on Your Account

Two-Factor Authentication or 2FA is an extra security layer when logging into an account. It requires an app on your smartphone which generates a time sensitive code that you enter after you have logged in with your standard username and password. This article shows you how to turn on 2FA for your Nutty About Hosting account.

To begin with you will need to have installed an authenticator app on your phone like Google Authenticator or Authy

1. Login to the portal at https://www.nuttyabouthosting.co.uk/portal using your username and password.

2. Click on 'Your Account' menu and then 'Two Factor Authentication' menu.

3. As you use a mobile app for generating your 2FA code you must have a mobile number registered on your account, if you don't you will see this message. This also helps if you get locked out of your account.

4. Scan the QR code shown in your authentication app. This should automatically set up the account. If it fails you can type in the code below the QR code.

5. Once set up in your authentication app it will start generating a codes. Put a code into the confirmation box and click 'Validate and Enable..' button.

6. All done! You now have 2FA security set up on you Nutty About Hosting account. Each time you login you will be asked for a code from your authentication app. We also provide you with 10 one time passcodes (OTP) in case you lose your phone or have not got it with you. Please make a note of these as we don't show them again. They should be stored securely in a password manage or similar.
