Email Address Settings to use in an Email Client

You can use an email program, for example, Microsoft Outlook, Mozilla Thunderbird or Apple Mail to send and receive email from your Nutty About Hosting mailboxes.

To do this, you first need to add a new account to your email program. This will vary depending on the program but there will be an 'Add new email account' option.

You will be asked to supply certain details when adding a new email account. You can find the details for your specific hosting plan in your space summary in the hosting control panel.

Note: These are generic examples

For IMAP (Recommended):

  • Mail account type: IMAP
  • Incoming mail server (IMAP): imap.nuttyabouthosting.co.uk or m.nahosting.uk for secure connection.
  • Outgoing mail server (SMTP): smtp.nuttyabouthosting.co.uk or m.nahosting.uk for secure connection.
  • Ports: (SMTP / IMAP) are 25 / 143 (non-SSL) and 465 / 993 (SSL)

For POP3 (Not Recommended):

  • Mail account type: POP3
  • Incoming mail server (POP): pop.nuttyabouthosting.co.uk or m.nahosting.uk for a secure connection.
  • Outgoing mail server (SMTP): smtp.nuttyabouthosting.co.uk or m.nahosting.uk for a secure connection.
  • Ports: (SMTP / POP) are 25 / 110 (non-SSL) or 465 / 995 (SSL)

Note: If you are using our nameservers you can also use mail.yourdomainname but this is NOT recommended and will give certificate warnings.

Username and password details will be as follows:

  • Username: Email address i.e. YourName@YourDomainName
  • Password: The password for the email address

Make sure you select the 'outgoing mail server requires authentication' option.

Once you have entered the details messages should be downloaded into your email program.
