Add Read Permissions to Your Root Folder

Your web hosting is set up with the website user having read and write permissions to the wwwroot folder as default. Sometimes PHP applications like WordPress (and plugins like WordFence) and Opencart need read permissions at the level above in order to run certain functions. This article shows you how to add those permissions.

1. Log into your portal at https://www.nuttyabouthosting.co.uk/portal and click on your hosting plan.

2. Click 'File Manager' under the heading 'System'.

3. Click on the padlock icon on the website you wish to alter the permissions.

4. The website user is the same name as your website URL. Check the 'Read' checkbox and click the 'Set Permissions' button.

5. It is a good idea to remove the read permission after you have completed task.
