Windows hosting FAQs
Do I need Windows hosting or Linux hosting?
It depends what your website is built with. Choose Windows hosting if your site uses .NET, ASP.NET, MS SQL Server, or a Windows CMS such as Umbraco or DNN. Choose Linux hosting if your site is written in PHP - including WordPress and WooCommerce, which have their own plans.

Do I need a Windows computer to use Windows hosting?
No. "Windows hosting" means your website runs on our Windows servers - it has nothing to do with the computer you use. Plenty of our customers work on Macs. Everything is managed through your web browser, so a Mac, PC, Chromebook, tablet or phone all work just the same.
Which versions of .NET do you support?
All current versions of .NET - both .NET Core and .NET Framework, including the latest release. ASP.NET MVC and Web Forms are both supported, and you can deploy using Web Deploy or FTP.
Do you offer unlimited disk space and bandwidth?
No, and that is deliberate. "Unlimited" is never really unlimited - it usually means thousands of websites crammed onto one overloaded server. We publish exactly what each plan includes and we don't cram thousands of sites onto one box. Here's the longer explanation.
Can I host more than one website on a single plan?
Yes. Each plan says how many websites and domains it covers - the entry-level Bronze plan hosts 2 websites, and the larger plans hold more. If you need to host sites for lots of different clients, look at agency hosting instead, which pools resources across all of them.
Do I have to buy my domain name from you?
Is an SSL certificate included?
Yes. Every website gets a free Let's Encrypt SSL certificate, so your site runs over HTTPS from day one at no extra cost. If you need a certificate with a warranty or with business validation, we sell those too - see SSL certificates.
What backups do you take?
Daily backups of your data, RAID redundancy on our servers, and backups replicated to a different datacentre. We also back a 99.9% uptime guarantee. Backups are a safety net for us both - it's still worth keeping your own copy of anything irreplaceable.
Can you move my existing website across?

Am I tied into a contract?
No. There are no binding contracts and no hidden fees, you can pay monthly if you prefer, and there's a 30 day money back guarantee. Paying 1 year in advance is cheaper - you get the equivalent of 1 month free hosting.
